Brief summary on how to use for students:  The students will be able to use this book to understand that it is okay to be imaginative and to have loyalty. This story goes for anyone who has ever felt reluctant to part with a true friend.
Summary: Dotty has horns and bright red spots and is very friendly and goes wherever Ida goes. In Ida’s class, there are also several other students who bring friends to school too. But as the year goes on and she comes back from winter break, more and more classmates forget about their friends and Ida ends up being the only one who still has Dotty. After being picked on by a classmate, Ida from the help of Ms. Raymond learns that Dotty is a true friend and they go home. Just as well as Ms. Raymond and her special friend.
